1401 N Miami Avenue
Year Built: 1926
Architect: August C. Geiger
Date Designated: 1999

a. Historic photograph of Fire Station No. 2, circa 1933.

Built just before the Land Boom went bust, this Mediterranean Revival style fire station is an excellent example of architectural tastes and urban expansion in Miami during the 1920s. Designed by one of the most prominent architects in South Florida, the building's detailing includes twisted columns, balconies, and arched entrances and window openings. Fire Station No. 2 was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
