b. This two-story Frame Vernacular house was built by its original owner, an African-Bahamian immigrant who became one of the largest landowners in Coconut Grove. Believing homeowners were better citizens, Ebenezer Stirrup eventually built more than 100 houses in Coconut Grove, providing many newly-arrived Bahamians with the opportunity to purchase their first home.
